May Allah bless Muhammad and his Family and damn their enemies.
His Eminence strongly condemns the treacherous attack perpetrated by the ‘Sunni’ terrorist gangs in Pakistan on buses carrying a number of the Shias [followers] of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in the Khyber Province, which led to the martyrdom of more than 40 people and the injuring of 30 others, including women and children. This attack is the culmination of months of escalating sectarian violence in Pakistan which claimed the lives of many of the righteous Shia.
His Eminence reiterates that decades of crime perpetrated by terrorists against the Shias of Pakistan proves the utter incompetence of the Pakistani state in defending them and their inability to eliminate the terrorist organisations that are deeply rooted in many Pakistani communities. This failure by the state gives the Shia of Pakistan the right to take on the responsibility of defending themselves in line with international conventions. Accordingly, His Eminence calls for a global initiative to aid and supply the Shia of Pakistan with the means required to allow them to protect themselves and their children, while emphasising that the most potent form of protection is to formulate a plan, supported by the international community, to eradicate and root out all terrorist organisations in the region, and bear the initial cost because the price for allowing this bloodshed to continue for decades – or centuries, God forbid – will undoubtedly be far greater.
Sheikh al-Habib beseeches the Almighty God to encompass the souls of our righteous martyrs with His vast mercy, to unite them with the Master of Messengers and his pure household (peace and blessings be upon them), to grant the wounded a speedy recovery, and to hasten the reappearance of our Imam and leader, the cherished Imam Mahdi (God’s prayers be upon him), so that peace may spread throughout the world.
