What has happened in al-Quds al-Sharif once again shows the ugliness of the Zionist occupiers and their insistence on provoking Muslims in their holiest sites and their relentless pursuit of erasing the Palestinian demographic presence. On the other hand, it reveals the level of humiliation this Ummah has reached due to its abandonment of the divine covenant in Ghadir. So its punishment was the abandonment of God in line with the supplication of his noble Prophet, may God’s peace be upon him and his family:
O’ God abandon those who abandon him (Imam Ali).
The Ummah has failed Imam Ali, peace be upon him; thus, God Almighty has abandoned us. Hence, God Almighty has punished this Ummah. Our enemies have tampered with our sovereignty, tampered with our capabilities, and sold our rights to our enemies. If not for God’s punishment, the Zionists would not have dared to do what they have carried out.
The population knows that Arab and Muslim rulers will do nothing but issue scanty statements of rebuke and condemnation merely for media and propaganda consumption. As for the reality in secret – and sometimes in public – it is the rulers’ goal to surrender and normalise the existence of this false state that they call ‘Israel’, in a way that unleashes the Zionist hand to do whatever it wishes in Jerusalem and Palestine without any deterrent or retaliation.
The people of Palestine and the entire Islamic world realise there is no good to be desired from the immoral traitorous rulers. Therefore, they are calling for dependence on themselves to resist rather than the rulers. But what our people have not yet realised; is that whatever it does in the field of public retaliations or guerrilla resistance, they will not be victorious unless they purify themselves from the second Jahiliyyah [ignorance]. Returning to the pure source of Islam represented by the pure Prophetic line, and associate themselves with the Prophet’s household and disassociate from their enemies. If the Ummah supports Imam Ali, peace be upon him, it will triumph over the Zionists and their kind, as our Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, said on the day of Ghadir:
And make victorious those who support him (Imam Ali).
Other than through this, the Ummah will not win a complete, lasting and absolute victory. The Muslim Ummah must remember that the one who triumphed over the Zionists’ ancestors in Khaybar was not Abu Bakr or Umar – who returned with disappointment, defeat and disgrace. Instead, victory and conquest were at the hands of the great Imam Ali, may God bless him and grant him peace. If the Ummah wishes for success and support from God, it must fulfil its promise and fulfil the Ghadir covenant. Otherwise, it will continue to lose its holy sites, and its blood will continue to be shed, its defeats will continue, and its situation will turn from bad to worse until there is no place for the Ummah among the nations except at the bottom.
We ask God Almighty to ease our people’s oppression in Palestine and bless them with the light of guardianship of the Ahlul-Bayt and dissociation from their enemies. We ask God to ward off the plot of the oppressors and to bring us together as Muslims who pray for the appearance of the promised Mahdi, may God’s peace be upon him, and may God hasten his honourable return.
