His Eminence Sheikh al-Habib expresses his strongest condemnation of the execution of young Mustafa Hashem al-Darwish by the Saudi regime. The young Shi’a Muslim from Tarut, in the Qatif Governorate, was arrested when he was only 17 years old for his mere participation in protests against the regime’s unjust and discriminatory policies. Unsurprisingly, the regime has once again assumed the national and international crowd to be so gullible as to make absurd claims of the 17-year-old young man being the ‘leader of a terrorist cell’ and ‘planning an armed rebellion’. Claims that only renew the regime’s global strategy of making a mockery of itself.
The Sheikh believes this heinous crime reaffirms the unreliability and untrustworthiness of this government. Previously promising to stop the execution of minors, even retroactively, but then insisted on carrying out this crime in a clear violation of their previous stance; and for what appears to be for nothing other than the victim being a Shi’a Muslim.
The Sheikh states that the international community, particularly the major world powers, must respond to the call of the collective human conscience and cut off entirely their dealings with this regime. A regime that happens to be no different to the terrorist organisation ISIS, in belonging to the bloody ideology known as Wahhabism, and its addiction to beheading and terrorizing the innocent. The Sheikh considers that the continuation of major world powers in the world cooperating with this regime reveals the horror of global politics. A system where commercial interests are given priority over basic humanistic principles, human values, and human rights. Are these values not the ones they have continuously expressed support for and even wages war over? Or is this all a facade? As we see nothing but evident hypocrisy.
The Sheikh stresses that there is no solution to this catastrophic regime except for its complete dismantlement, freeing the population from their claws.
The Sheikh asks God Almighty to have mercy on the slain martyr, Mustafa Hashem al-Darwish, and to accompany him with Prophet Muhammad and his pure family (peace be upon them) in Paradise. He also asks God Almighty to grant his family patience, solace, and consolation.
