The discussion regarding the establishment of an Islamic state during the occultation of the Imam of our time (peace be upon him) has been ensuing for a millennium. Since the beginning of the major occultation until today, scholars have disputed whether Muslims can establish an Islamic state without the apparent physical presence of the Imam (peace be upon him).
